Godfrey Co., 8 ga. side by side shotgun. Serial #75680, mfg. Belgium. Antique. Massive 20 lb. double with 36" Belgium twist barrels! Exposed hammers. Surely made for the turn of the century waterfowl market hunting days when both barrels were trained on a large flocks of quackers and 50 or 60 would be bagged and then sold to area restaurants for good money. Excellent condition with 90% original case colors on the frame and beautiful Damascus patterns on thebrowned barrel. Tight action! All matching serial numbers. Old toe repair on nicely figured wood. LOP is 14 1/8" over beautiful hard buttplate with Roman warrior on plate. Marked "TWIST BELGIUM" on top of barrel rib and "Choke Bored" on top of left barrel. "Godfrey Co." on both sides of the receiver. Inside of forearm on iron is "Tharp" in script (could this be on the more successful market hunters of the day?!). Double triggers. Extractors. Bright shiny bores. Belgium proof marks on bottom of barrels. Quite a piece! HUGE! Will require extra shipping - we'll ship in hard case. Includes six 8 ga. empty cartridges - brass and paper.
